《当约翰尼迈步回家时》〔"When Johnny Comes Marching Home"〕，亦称为《当约翰尼再次迈步回家时》，是一首美国内战时人们表达渴望他们在战场上的亲戚朋友早日回家的歌曲。

这首歌的旋律以一首爱尔兰的反战歌曲——《Jonny I Hardly Knew Ye》——为主。同样使用这个旋律的歌有儿童歌曲《蚂蚁一个接一个的前进》〔"The Ants Go Marching One By One"〕以及《动物们成双成对的进去》〔"The Animals Went in Two by Two"〕。后者的歌词是由爱尔兰裔美国人派崔克·吉尔摩〔Patrick Gilmore〕所写的，他的歌词完全与原本的反战歌词相反。在原本的反战歌曲中，约翰尼回家时眼睛是瞎的、双脚是瘸的，而且他是回到一个他当初为了参加战争而狠心抛弃的女人身边。

使用同样旋律的还有"For Bale"，这是一首叛乱分子污衊占领纽奥良的联邦军的歌曲。

另外，在卓别林的经典影片《大独裁者》里，这首歌的音乐也短暂出现

这首歌的旋律在布鲁斯·威利斯的电影Die Hard: With a Vengence中的Simon Gruber的一景有出现过，也曾经在库贝里克的经典黑色喜剧电影奇爱博士当中多次出现，伴随B-52轰炸机的场景。

这个也是台湾中华职棒统一狮队的洋将布雷的出场主题曲，每当他一上场打击观众就会开始演奏这首歌。

这首歌的旋律还被英国足球俱乐部利物浦（liverpool football club，LFC)的球迷们用于歌颂他们的头号射手费尔南多.托雷斯，创造了一首托雷斯之歌，每当托雷斯进球，安菲尔德球场上空就会响起万人高唱的这激情澎湃的声音。
