早年生活
Miles出生在南加州一个紧邻海岸线的小镇，这里远离大都市，自然环境优美。去纽约上大学之前，他都生活在这里。Miles的成长经历并不複杂，上大学前他一直生活在家乡La Jolla。他的父亲是一位自主创业的房地产开发商，母亲是心理学教授，还有一位比他年长9岁的姐姐。父母在他幼年时离婚，父亲再婚后，继母带来两位继兄，虽然没有血缘关係，但全家人关係十分和睦。Miles从小喜欢画画，以成为画家作为自己的人生目标，幼年时经老师指点，彻底走上了绘画的道路。从家乡的高中毕业后，他一个人来到纽约，在NYU继续学习艺术，专业为Studio Art，以绘画和雕塑为主。
模特生涯
Miles从小把成为画家作为目标，从未想过要去做模特。大二那年，一位星探在街头发现了他，邀请他为Urban Outfitters拍摄一些照片，他当时虽然答应了，但却对模特并不感兴趣，他不想为此耽误自己在NYU的学业。直到快毕业时，周围的同学都在为就业四处奔波，受此影响他才开始考虑成为模特。踏上模特生涯意味着要在全世界各地旅行，他认为这也有助于给他带来艺术灵感，于是在毕业那年正式和模特经纪公司签订了契约，成为一名模特。
在模特界出道之后，Miles开始为一些品牌拍摄目录，并在T台崭露头角。出道的第一年里他走了11场秀， 2011年他成为全经纪公司被预定日程最满的男模，2012年全年show超过30场。包括Alexander McQueen、Dior Homme、Lanvin、Versace、Paul Smith、John Varvatos等一线品牌，除纽约DNA之外，巴黎、米兰、伦敦、柏林、巴塞隆纳的模特经纪公司都和他签订了契约。从2012开始，在T台上得到了知名度的Miles将工作重心转向品牌代言和杂誌拍摄，先后为Paul Smith、Etro、H&M等品牌代言，也为Vogue拍摄过杂誌封面。2013年之后，他开始慢慢淡出T台，减少走秀的频率，虽然这也是模特行业的一般规律，但也与他自身的选择有关。他在採访中说，由于走T台频繁的时期需要在世界各地奔波，日程紧密，他已无暇集中精力待在画室里完成他擅长的油画作品，只能抽空画些素描和水彩。另外一方面，他表示自己性格内向，不善交际，认为自己不适合长期在这个行业发展。在2014年他减少了T台的工作量，将重心转移到品牌目录，以及拍摄杂誌。2014年MDC发布的排行中，他仍然保持在前50位。
