《Witness》是Katy Perry时隔4年后的又一力作，在这段时间内水果姐并没有停歇而是极力筹备《Witness》的诞生。自2015年巡演结束后水果姐就透露了关于新专辑的构思，16年接受纽约时报採访时，水果姐表示年底将写出40首歌为新专辑作準备，由此可见，水果姐对这张专辑的用心程度可见一斑。

复古法国皇室奢华荒诞MV。造型参考复古18世纪法国国王路易十六的皇后“Marie Antoinette”，玛丽皇后被誉为引领潮流的绝代美艳皇后，她也代表着18世纪法国的奢华皇室的浮夸造型，她设计的pouf à la circonstance浮夸假髮造型在欧洲流行至今，对时尚界有着重大的贡献。旧社会欧洲宫廷，对女性的压迫比如起床的饮食，束腰，甚至要时刻确定女性的清白(在女生私处加锁)，但是那时的男性却为所欲为，暴躁残忍，男人为王直到她看到本书，便幻想自己是一名独立女性，有男人为她伴舞，吃蛋糕，打败骚扰她的男人，最终她实在忍不了扇了男人却惨遭砍头。这都讽寓着现代女性依然被压迫着。并且最后坐椅子指挥砍头的居然还是女人，还有女人在旁边鼓掌，也是在讽刺很多女人不懂得自强。
